Aeroponics is cutting edge in the world of hydroponics. Aeroponic systems do require the greatest amount of technology and service as compared with other hydroponic techniques. Aeroponics is a hydroponic system in which plant roots are suspended in air and misted with a nutrient water. Aeroponic plants are generally planted on the outside top of an enclosed chamber where they receive maximum sunlight. Inside the dark chamber at the bottom is nutrient solution and mist nozzles. The fine mist sprays up onto the roots of the plants and then drips off down into the bottom where it is used again. Research suggests that aeroponic systems maximize oxygen availability at the root zone, thus helping to maximize plant growth. |

It is expected by the year 2010 Americans will spend 25 Billion dollars on botanical products! Aeroponic systems can be an excellent choice for crops such as medicinal herbs where clean soil free root material is often needed. Aeroponic systems provide consistent phytochemistry from the herb roots because growers are able to precisely control the inputs into the plant. High quality medicinal roots can fetch a premium price in certain markets. Harvesting doors can be built into our customized aeroponic systems which allow for multiple harvests of root material. This is an exciting technological breakthrough in the world of herbal root production because medicinal herb plants are typically destroyed when roots are harvested using conventional growing techniques.

Aeroponics is also commonly used in the agro-tourism industry. Educational facilities, theme parks, and restaurants have all utilized this technology to display plant production in an amazing way. Future Growing can create many variations of aeroponic systems, including displays featuring plants that live and move among guests dining in fine restaurants. Aeroponics is considered a closed hydroponics system. Therefore, nutrients and water are continually recycled, preserving our natural resources and the environment. However, closed aeroponic systems do run a higher risk of spreading plant disease throughout the entire crop. With the addition of FUTURE GROWING technologies, we can virtually eliminate root diseases with the use of high efficiency water chillers, beneficial microorganisms, and our UV (Ultraviolet) or Ozone sterilization systems. Future Growing has two customized aeroponic styles available for our clients. The standard aeroponic grow box utilizes horizontal greenhouse space, which is ideal for larger, high light crops. The Vertical-A maximizes greenhouse space by growing smaller plants vertically. |
